Ruly’s ‘Overcome the Challenge’ Competition – Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1. These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. By participating in the Ruly ‘Overcome the Challenge’ Competition, all claimants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms and Conditions.
1.2. The Promoter: August OFF Functional Foods Limited (company number 15678819, registered address 30 Moorgate, Co Canny & Associates Ltd, London, United Kingdom, EC2R 6PJ), trading as “RULY”. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to August OFF Functional Foods Limited trading as “RULY”. Please do not send any correspondence to this address.
1.3. It is recommended that you print a copy of these Terms and Conditions and retain them for future reference.
2. How to Enter
2.1. The Competition opens on 7 April 2025 and closes at midnight on 31 July 2025. Entries received after this date will not be considered.
2.2. To enter, participants must:
- Scan the QR code or visit www.rulyruly.com/win and complete the entry form online; or
- Send a postcard with their name, date of birth, email address, phone number, full address, and competition entry to RULY Competition Entries, 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ.
2.3. No purchase is necessary to enter the Competition.
3. Eligibility
3.1. The Competition is open to UK residents aged 16 years and over only.
3.2. Employees of RULY, their immediate family members, or anyone else professionally connected to the Competition are not eligible to enter.
3.3. RULY reserves the right to disqualify any participant who provides false or misleading information or who attempts to tamper with the entry process.
4. Submission Guidelines
4.1. All entries must be:
- Original and not infringe on any third-party rights, including copyright.
- Written in English and no longer than 75 words.
- Not contain any material that is defamatory, libelous, obscene, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate.
4.2. Entries that violate these guidelines will be disqualified at the sole discretion of RULY.
5. Judging and Winner Selection
5.1. Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged based on:
- Inspiration: How motivational and impactful the story is.
- Interest: How engaging the story is.
- Clarity: How well the challenge is described and the grit demonstrated to overcome it.
5.2. Challenges do not need to be monumental, but participants must clearly describe a story of grit and determination that led to their success.
5.3. The judges’ panel will consist of three judges, including both internal team members and external judges.
5.4. The winners will be chosen in one round of judging, and no public voting will take place.
5.5. Judges' decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging process or results.
6. Prizes
6.1. Grand Prize: The winner will receive £500 cash, paid via bank transfer within 10 working days of receipt of their bank details.
6.2. Runners-Up: The 10 runners-up will have their stories featured on Ruly's social media channels.
6.3. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternatives.
7. Winner Notification and Prize Claiming
7.1. The winner will be notified by email or phone within 15 working days of the closing date.
7.2. The winner must respond with their bank details by 31 August 2025 to claim the prize. If the winner fails to provide bank details by this date, the prize may be forfeited, and an alternative winner may be selected.
7.3. If the winner does not respond to the notification within 15 days, RULY reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
8. Data Protection and Use of Personal Information
8.1. By entering, participants consent to the collection and use of their personal data in accordance with the GDPR and RULY’s Privacy Policy.
8.2. Personal data, including contact details, will be stored securely and only used for purposes related to the administration of the Competition, prize distribution, and related marketing purposes.
8.3. Participants agree to join Ruly's mailing list as part of their entry. They may unsubscribe at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any communication they receive.
8.4. RULY will not share entrants' data with third parties, except as necessary to administer the prize or comply with the law.
9. Publicity and Consent
9.1. By entering the Competition, participants consent to having their name and competition entry published on RULY's social media platforms, website, and other marketing materials.
9.2. Participants may be asked to provide a photo or video for promotional purposes. These are optional, and participants can choose not to submit them.
9.3. If participants do not wish to have their name or entry featured, they should notify RULY when contacted.
10. Governing Law and Disputes
10.1. The Competition and these Terms are governed by UK law.
10.2. Any disputes arising from the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the UK.
11. General Conditions
11.1. RULY reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend the Competition at any time for any reason, without prior notice. Any changes will be posted on the Ruly website or via social media.
11.2. Force Majeure: RULY shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance of the Competition due to events beyond its reasonable control, including, without limitation, natural disasters, technical failures, or other unforeseen events.
11.3. By entering the Competition, participants agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.
12. Liability
12.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RULY is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the Competition or the acceptance or use of any prize.
12.2. RULY is not responsible for any technical issues (e.g., website errors, server failures) that may prevent entries from being received or processed.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By entering this Competition, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
